Darkphobia is a 3D puzzle game where you control a little girl who wants to turn off all the lights at home before going to sleep. The problem? She is absolutely terrified of the dark. Being in the dark scares her so much that if you stay more than a few seconds without being surrounded by light, an imaginary monster will come and take her, and you'll lose the game and have to start the level over.
Very simple touch controls
The controls in Darkphobia, which was originally released on PC, are very well adapted to touchscreens. You can move the main character with your left thumb and interact with the light switches and other objects in the setting with your right. Pinching the right of the screen will also allow you to zoom out and get an overview of the whole house. This is very important, especially at the beginning of each level, as you'll have to see exactly where all the lights are located.
Logic puzzles with a dose of horror
The ultimate goal in each level in Darkphobia is to turn off all the lights in the house before you go to bed. But there are a number of factors to take into consideration: the first is that you can only flip switches if you're in an area that is lit. In other words, you won't be able to turn the light on in a completely dark room. Luckily, your character can move for two or three seconds in the dark before the monster gets her. Taking advantage of these few seconds is key to beating most of the levels.
The perfect combination of puzzles and horror
Download the Darkphobia APK and discover a genuinely original puzzle game with a very interesting theme and excellent visuals. The game is also completely offline, so you don't need an Internet connection to access any of its features, and there are no in-game transactions or other intrusive monetization methods. It is a great game where you can test your ingenuity.
Editor's opinion
It is increasingly difficult to find puzzle games that are able to surprise you, but Darkphobia manages it. The main mechanic is simple enough that you can learn how to play in less than a minute, but becomes complex enough to keep you hooked throughout the eight levels.
